Project Description
The Town of Summerville is seeking proposals from qualified companies with experience in urban forest assessment and management to procure and prepare a Street Tree Inventory and Data Report.
Project Background
The Urban Forest Master Plan, created in 2023, outlined the need for a GIS based tree inventory to provide information on the location, composition, condition, risk, and maintenance needs of publicly managed trees. This will be the first phase in completing an inventory of right-of-way trees and park trees. The completed inventory will help prioritize tree care activities and deliver urban forestry services efficiently and cost effectively.
Deadline
All work is to be completed by March 31, 2025.
Conduct a street tree inventory in selected street rights-of-way, street tree easements, parks, public facilities grounds, and other public property for approximately 2000 trees. Include cost per tree in bid and for additional increments of 1000. Contractor must use a GPS-based data collection system and must provide the data output to the Town of Summerville in ESRI shapefile or geodatabase formats. Locations to be inventoried include:
•Gahagan Park
•Azalea Park
•Hutchinson Square/S. Main St.
