The City of Box Elder will be accepting sealed bids for the Prairie Road Reconstruction, Phase 2, Project No. 23.017.01, until 11:00 AM local time, November 28, 2023, at the Box Elder City Hall, 420 Villa Drive, Box Elder, South Dakota, 57719.
This project consists of the reconstruction of approximately 1,600 linear feet of Prairie Road, including approximately 1,300 tons of asphalt paving, 2,080 tons of aggregate base course, grading, 318 linear feet of 8” PVC Water Main, 200 linear feet of 8’ x 6’ Box Culvert, 1,022 linear feet of 18-inch storm pipe, 2,200 linear feet of concrete curb & gutter, 6,635 square feet of sidewalk, and site stabilization and restoration.
Bidders shall review the work areas to verify the quantities of work for the project.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on November 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. (MST) at the Box Elder City Hall, 420 Villa Drive, Box Elder, SD 57719. A site visit will follow depending on weather conditions.
Bidders must have access to a current set of City of Box Elder Standard Construction Specifications, which can be found on the City’s website at https://www.boxelder.us/city-departments/engineering/. All public improvements are required to conform to these specifications and bid prices must reflect these specifications.
Bids may not be withdrawn prior to thirty (30) days after the bid opening. The Owner will award the bid within ten (10) days after the bid opening.
The Owner and Contractor hereby acknowledges that time of completion of the work is of vital importance, and the Contractor will be required to complete the work within the time stipulated in the contract. Regardless of actual construction start date, all work specified in the contract documents must be substantially complete by September 27th, 2024, and complete in every respect and ready for final payment no later than October 25, 2024.
