Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows:
1. Base Bid: 6,800 SY HMAC Replacement by Milling
2. Base Bid: Replacement of Concrete Curb and Gutter, Wastewaters Lines, Wastewater Services, Water Lines, Water Services, Driveway Approaches, and Storm Culverts.
3. Alternate Bid: 6,800 SY HMAC Replacement by Full Depth Replacement
Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications may be from Texas Purchasing Group by Texas Bid Net Direct.
A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Taylor or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.
Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves regarding all local conditions prior to submitting bids. Bidders are encouraged to attend a pre-bid conference on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at the City of Taylor City Hall, 400 Porter St., Taylor, TX 76574.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin. Adherence to the City of Taylor's Section 3 Policy is required for contract and subcontracts in excess of $100,000. The City of Taylor reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
Bids may be held by City of Taylor for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
Upon acceptance of successful bid and contract execution, the method of payment to the successful
Contractor from the City of Taylor for any work performed under this project shall be made by check.
