RECEIPT OF BIDS: Separate sealed BIDS or Electronic Submittal using BidnetDirect for the construction of the 2023 1400 South Storm Main Project will be received by Sam Kelly, City Engineer at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, 56 North State, Orem, UT 84057, or opened electronically on BidnetDirect until January 18th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud if required by applicable law. The preferred method for submitting a bid is by using bidnetdirect.com/utah/orem at orem.org/purchasing (On the right, select “City of Orem Sourcing Events” > select Open Solicitations > Register Now > register and find project). Bids submitted after this deadline will be rejected. Upon review, the business or individual best meeting the needs of the City will be contacted for further action.
BIDDING QUESTIONS – Use BidnetDirect to submit questions and download documents relating to bid items, specifications, and other technical questions. The project engineer is Kyra Wright (801) 229-7315. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on January 4th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem City Center, Development Services Room 105, located at 56 North State Street, Orem UT 84057. At the end of the prebid meeting, there is an optional site visit, on the northeast corner of 1400 S and 605 E in Orem.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained December 21st, 2022 on BidnetDirect under 2023 1400 South Storm Main Project or at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, Development Services Offices, 56 North State Street, Orem, UT 84057. There is no fee from the City to obtain the documents on BidnetDirect. There will be a $20 non-refundable fee for a copy of the plans and specifications. (An additional $5.00 service charge will be assessed if the plans and specifications are to be mailed).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The WORK includes The installation of 1,698 LF of 24” RCP, 161 LF of 15” SDR-35 PVC pipe, 115 LF of 12” SDR-35 PVC pipe, a 60” pretreatment, a 3’x3’ pretreatment, 4- 48” pretreatments, a 48” storm drain manhole, 2- 6’ X 6’ storm drain boxes, 2- 4’X4’ storm drain boxes, 3- 3’x3’ storm drain boxes, a 4”waterline loop, 3- 6” waterline loops, an 8” waterline loop, a 12” waterline loop, concrete restoration, and 3- ADA ramps. The engineer's estimate for the work is $755,000 to $835,000.
SITE OF WORK: The site of the WORK is located on 1400 South from State Street to 740 East.
