The Town of Castle Rock, Colorado, is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to submit bids for the Town’s planned purchase of small electric-powered equipment, such as trimmers, blowers and chainsaws.
The Colorado Air Quality Commission released Regulation 29 in 2024. This regulation prohibits the use of gas-powered equipment (less than 10 horsepower) by municipalities during the summer months. The Town of Castle Rock regularly uses this type of equipment in its Parks Maintenance, Public Works, Castle Rock Water and Red Hawk Ridge golf course operations. In order to be compliant with these regulations, the Town is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to purchase replacement equipment prior to the new regulation taking effect. This purchase will be funded in part by the Federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG)
