PUBLIC NOTICE
FOR THE ACQUISITION OF AN AUTOMATED VEHICLE LOCATOR (AVL) SYSTEM
Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 39-09/10
The City of Miami Beach is requesting proposals from qualified firms for an Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) system for the purpose of tracking vehicle location, automatic vehicle alert monitoring and customizable reporting with real time data communication.
The City wants to acquire a turn-key solution to initially track approximately 110 vehicles. It is the intent of the City to budget for and purchase additional units and extent the service for these units during the term of this contract.
The final price and terms for the contracts will be negotiated after City Commission approves authorization to negotiate. The contract shall be for a five (5) year term, with two (2) two-year renewal options at the City’s option.
Sealed proposals will be received until 3:00 PM on July 13, 2010 at the following address:

Any proposal received after 3:00 PM on July 13, 2010 will be returned to the proposer unopened. The responsibility for submitting proposals before the stated time and date is solely the responsibility of the proposer.
The City will not be responsible for delays caused by mail, courier service, including U.S. Mail, or any other occurrence.

The City of Miami Beach is using BidSync, a central bid notification system that provides bid notification services to interested vendors.
