NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed proposals to furnish and install electrical systems for advanced oxidation process water treatment facility and systems at the Old Dock Road Well Field and Pump Station, Kings Park, Town of Smithtown, Suffolk County, NY, will be received by the Purchasing Director of the Suffolk County Water Authority at 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, NY 11739, not later than 11:00 a.m., prevailing time, on May 12, 2023, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. In addition, Bids will be accepted electronically, prospective bidders have the opportunity to submit their bids via the following website: www.BidNetDirect.com/new-york.
Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents are available for you to download by login in to the following websites www.scwa.com; or www.BidNetDirect.com/new-york. Questions and answers will also be posted on the public websites noted above.
Details relating to the proposed work are also on file and publicly exhibited at the Office of the Purchasing Department, of the Suffolk County Water Authority, 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739 where copies of said documents may be obtained upon application.
The Authority will hold a pre-bid meeting starting at 10:00 a.m. May 4, 2023. The meeting will be at Old Dock Road Well Field, located on the S/S of Old Dock Road, 746’ East of Church Street, Kings Park, Town of Smithtown, Suffolk County, NY; followed by Douglas Avenue Well Field & Pump Station, located on S/S of Douglas Avenue, between Mckinney & Highland Avenues. It is strongly recommended that all prospective Bidders attend the meeting.
Apprenticeship Agreement: The Suffolk County Water Authority requires, pursuant to New York Labor Law Section 816-b, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under this Contract, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23. Evidence of such agreements for both contractors and subcontractors, if any, must be submitted with the bid. The Suffolk County Water Authority has determined that apprenticeship agreements for electricians and for operating engineers (for excavation other than by hand) are the appropriate agreements for this contract.
